Sensitive
Period

It’s the
period or the time in which the child is accruing skills. Child becomes open to
some experience of life not all, skills for language, order, movements starts
to make sense.

Montessori
understood the importance of the sensitive periods in child’s life; therefore
she made materials, which isolated that skill in which the child is sensitive
to. With repetition and time leads the child to development and refinement of
that particular skill/quality till he masters it. Montessori’s sensorial
education used precise words for the materials, order and gave purposeful
movements.

For Example:

·
Tracing in Knob Cylinders (sensitivity
for Writing)

·
Brown Prisms (sensitivity for
Order and Movement)
